I'd been looking at some of the Rackham Alahan paintjobs and I like the one-colour-armour ones best, so I decided to paint this guy with monochrome armour. I think it makes the mini a bit less "busy". The armour has a kind of ceramic look to it which was created by basecaoting with Snakebite Leather and then highlighting with Bubonic Brown. The frosty NMM sword was done by using Shadow Grey, which is a kind of blue grey colour, and then highlighting with Space Wolf Grey. The face and the filigree were quite annoying to paint!
