"The White Ogre" Another special figure review. This time I've gotten my hands on an exclusive Kev White sculpt: a large ogre-like fellow. I call him "The White Ogre". The price of this guy is 9£ (+1.5£ for worldwide shipping). You can buy it in the Hassle Free Miniatures Shop. Unfortunately the metal base which my version has, is no longer available. The figure As you might know, I've been a fan of Kev's sculpts pretty much my whole (rather short) minipainting career and this one is no exception, but before I say more, lets take a look at him:
The Design This is a typical Kev White figure, nice clean sculpting with soft, well defined shapes. I'm usually not a fan of the monster types, but I think this guy presents some nice painting opportunities.
He is made of six parts: Lower body, right leg, upper body, sword, shield, and head.
Most parts need pinning (quite easy except for the shield), and the fit is good.
Casting Quality The casting quality is really good. The figure is smooth and the moldlines aren't big. The Bases As you can see on the first pic, I got my version with a super cool snow base. Unfortunately that is no longer available, so if you buy this guy (and you really should ;)), you have to find something interesting to decorate the base with. Conclusion As usual Kev doesn't dissapoint. The White Ogre is really cool and I think he would fit well into both Wargames and RPG.
