Painted as a commission April 2003

This is the first dragon I've painted and I'm not completely happy with the way it turned out. I was working from a drawing (check it out below), but I hadn't printed it so it was a bit hard to match the colours. That's probably why it turned out way too blue... or maybe I just don't have the brains it takes to work from a sketch ;)

I had never imagined it was so much work to paint a dragon. Blacklining all the scales took a lot of time. Since I had already spent a lot of time on the little fellow I decided not to blend the scales and the horns. Instead I glazed them and highlighted with the basecoat colour.
